brings over 30 years of office administration experience to her position as Office Administration instructor at Westover Job Corps Center, including housing administration, management, pharmacy technician and medical office administration. Nylma believes “mistakes don’t define who we are but help you be and get better.” Her experiences have provided her with insight into career skills and studies that she uses to prepare students to be successful in their career paths.

, Carpentry instructor, has over 26 years of experience in the carpentry industry. He is an affiliate of the United Brotherhood Carpenters of America and believes that building careers changes lives. Junior loves teaching and engaging with his students and takes pride in seeing the results he helps create and shape.

, Bricklaying instructor, is an affiliate with the International Mason Institute (IMI), and he was a journeyman bricklayer for the last 28 years with Union Local 3 in Boston. Bob started teaching for IMI and Westover Job Corps Center in 2002. He loves to train students in all aspects of bricklaying and preparing successful students for the workforce.

, Academic instructor, has an educational background in sociology and special education. Throughout his career, the positions he has gravitated to and enjoyed most have all been related to working with individuals to help them reach their goals. When he isn’t working, Patrick enjoys coaching football at Western New England University. He also enjoys golfing and hiking in the Adirondack Mountains . Teaching is a great outlet for Patrick to use his skills to mentor, model and help students succeed.

is a full-time Reading Instructor at Westover, with many years of experience within Job Corps. A native of Poland, she is fluent in English and Polish. Barbara is also the HiSET coordinator, assisting students with obtaining their high school equivalency certificate. She enjoys seeing her students reach their highest potential and succeed on their pathways. 

, Math instructor, brings an extensive teaching background to Westover Job Corps Center. She has shaped many students in the subject of mathematics, building their confidence and skills, and guiding them to success.

serves as Pinellas County Job Corps Center’s Carpentry instructor. For over 30 years, James has worked in the carpentry industry on numerous high-profile jobs, including Citi Field, Hard Rock Café and the World Trade Center. James is a U.S. Navy veteran and has been a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America for 20 years. He holds certifications in OSHA, scaffolding, aerial scissor lift, UBC journeyman, blueprint reading, solid surface, and first aid and CPR.

has been the Plumbing instructor at the Pinellas County Job Corps Center since 2019. As a Job Corps graduate, he feels privileged to train students to become future leaders on the frontline of the plumbing industry. Pedro’s professional background includes certification as a technical education professional, journeyman plumber and OSHA-certified trainer, with expertise in aerial lift, forklift and OSHA’s Lockout/Tagout procedures.

, Certified Nurse Assistant instructor, has been a registered nurse for over 16 years. Her areas of expertise include labor and delivery, surgical services, and emergency care. Je’re served as a frontline health care first responder during the COVID-19 global pandemic working across the state of Florida. She enjoys teaching Pinellas County Job Corps Center students the necessary skills to care for the most vulnerable through quality nursing assistant care.

, Medical Administrative Assistant instructor, brings more than 20 years of medical office experience and a degree in medical assisting to Pinellas County Job Corps Center. Anita is passionate about making learning fun for her students and helping them gain confidence prior to entering the workforce.
